Generations Now!

Giving the World a Biblical way of life

And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.  ~  2 Timothy 2:2

Each generation is one generation away from a complete change, either to revival or rejection of God. We see this in the nation of Israel after they had conquered the promised land in Judges 2:10, “… and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.” Because of this truth, we at Grace Baptist Church see Broken Biblical Foundations as the need which moves us to glorify God by establishing the foundations of godly generations, giving the world a Biblical way of life.

For this conference we are focusing on the theme Generations Now! Our theme challenges us to reach this generation with the truth of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Generations Now! requires us to serve God in the same way we are saved – by grace through faith. Only in this way can we hold to the commitments Jesus set forth in Luke 9:23, “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

Generations Now! requires us to act with urgency. God states this urgency in 2 Corinthians 6:2, “… behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” We must act now.

Generations Now! requires us to commit the truth of God’s word to faithful people. They will then be able to pass it on to others as Paul teaches in 2 Timothy 2:2, “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.”

Will you give yourself to God to establish godly Generations Now!?

Verse 5. – For the Lord is good (comp. 1 Chronicles 16:34 ; 2 Chronicles 5:13 ; 2 Chronicles 7:3 ; Ezra 3:11 ; Psalm 106:1 ; Psalm 107:1 ; Psalm 118:1, 29 ; Psalm 125:3 ; Psalm 136:1 ; Psalm 145:9 , etc.). His mercy is everlasting; literally, his mercy is forever. Compare the frequent refrain, “His mercy endureth forever” ( Psalm 118:1-4, 29 ; Psalm 136:1-26 , etc.). And his truth (or, his faithfulness) endureth to all generations; literally, to generation and generation. All men’s hope is in God’s “faithfulness,” that he will keep his promises to them – pardon them, deliver them, cleanse them, and give them rest in his kingdom forever.
